CONFIRMATION OF THE CATHOLICCHURCH

CONFIRMATION: Confirmation is a sacrament by which we receive the holy spirit inother to make us strong, perfect Christians and soldiers of Christ, what we are meant to understand here is that confirmation enables us to be BOLD and also to speak and defend for Christ. We Christians are expected to be bold as well face the challenges that come to our way as this can be achieved through the HOLY SPIRIT, as we can be seen during the time of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles and that was the major fact why they were bold as well been able to defend Christ. With the power of the holy spirit, the apostles were able to speak in so many languages, the spirit of timidity left there body and this pave way for BOLDNESS in there lives, they were able to defend and die for Christ. The Apostles really suffered a lot, they were been were persecuted and they all died in different ways, peter was crucified upside down, all the apostles were all killed that it is the utmost reason the catholic churches celebrates them, They are the blood and pillar of churches today and not only them we also celebrates saints too who really worked for Christ, most of these saints body are buried today and there is still present till our present world. It important for us to note that one can not undergo confirmation if he or she has not performs its Baptism or receives the Holy Communion. There are lot of faithful who because of their boldness filled by the Holy Spirit were been Massacred like the death in UGANDA and saints who were martyred as these are St Paul, St Philip, St James, St Peter, Saint Agatha, St Philomena, St Jude, St Andrew, Saint Stephen, St Perpetual and Felicity, St Thomas, St Thomas more, St Sebastian and others saints who were persecuted for Christ sake. Confirmation I said earlier is necessary, I the writer is a practicing catholic who has done the baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Penance. These 7 sacraments are so necessary, it is purely necessary for our souls if only we want to be sanctified, cleansed and purify.

BAPTISM OF THE CATHOLICCHURCH

BAPTISM: Baptism is a sacrament which cleanses us from original sins, makes us Christians, children of God and members of the church. What is original sin? It simply means the sins of our forefathers as this is also called the sin of DISOBEDIENCE as this sin of disobedience emerged other sins and as result of this, man began to suffer due to the curse GOD placed on us. Once we go for baptism and we are baptized, we are sure the sin of our forefather is wiped away from us as John the Baptist went about in the wilderness, preaching of repentance and baptizing all those who repented and were truly so sorry for there sins. We are Christians are not expected this cleansing as this can be seen in the life of Jesus Christ, he was a perfect example for us, despite his equality with GOD, he also cleansed (Baptized) himself. We Christians are expected to go for cleansing through the baptized as the CATHOLIC CHURCH does this baptism. We must not be ignorant; we should go for baptism as this is important for our souls. Remember when Jesus Christ was about going to heaven he said to his apostles “Go ye all nations baptizing them in the name of the FATHER, the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT, even the infants”. This is to show you how importance the baptism is to our souls. Baptism can be in the form of sprinkling of water or dipping of head in the water, the main thing to Note here is that Baptism is really important for our souls as I said earlier to wash/wipe us all away the sins of our fore father (Adam and eve). in catholic church, there are necessary items needeed for baptism as these are candle, water, salt, bowl, white gament and there must be the presence of god parents

candle: this signifies that we are the light of the world, as a child of god we all must keep our light shining AS CHRISTIANS. The candle signifies light. every christians who is a child of god is a light and such light must not be quenched if only we want god to use us as his instrument. we are precious in the eyes of god

water: The water is used for purification, santification and cleansing. it is important if we want baptism to take place.

salt: We christians are salt of the world and we are not meant to loose it taste. the salt is mixed with the water for baptism

bowl: this is used to mix the water and the salt

white garment: the white garment is used to carry an infant for baptism and others, it stands for purity.

god parents: the god parents are fathers or mothers who stand for us or represents us during baptism. anyone who does baptism must have a god parents.

ASSUMPTION OF OUR BLESSED VIRGIN MARY INTO HEAVEN

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven is celebrated every year on the 15th August as the dogma of the catholic is the Assumption of our Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven, the feast of the Assumption is very old as it celebrated universally by the Sixth Century. The feast commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into heaven just as Elijah and others in the Bible before her own body decays just as a foretaste of our resurrection of the body at the end of time. The Assumption simply signifies our Blessed Virgin Mary passing into eternal life as this is the most important of all Marian feasts and a holy day of obligation, the feast of our blessed mother has been initially been celebrated in the east as it was known as the feast of Dormition, a word which means “the falling asleep”. During the fourth century, it was believed that our Mother Mary assumed into heaven. In the falling asleep of the holy mother of God, It recounts in the words on the cross had entrusted the care of his Mother, the death, laying in the tomb, assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The Tradition places Mary’s death at Jerusalem or at Ephesus where john was living.

November 1 1950, Pope Pius XII has exercised Papal infallibility declared in Munificentissimus Deus “that is the Dogma of the church “that  the immaculate Mother of God, the ever virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.”. As a dogma, the Assumption is a required belief of all Catholics, anyone who publicly dissents from the dogma, pope pius declared has fallen away completely from the divine and catholic faith while the eastern orthodox believe in the Dormition, the object to the papal definitions of the dogma seeing it as unnecessary, since the belief in Mary’s bodily assumption tradition holds goes back to apostolic times. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary should be celebrated in every catholic fold. It simply emphasizes that Mother Mary went to heaven body and soul just as Elijah as I have mentioned above.
